Credentials
Freedom Covenant Global Ministries, through the administration of the Council of Bishops offers ministerial credentials in two categories to qualified candidates called of God to serve in His ministry. Our credentials will help a person to be recognized and to hold equal rights before the law, the community, and the state.
However, FCGM is not a credential mill, and may not approve credentials for everyone that applies. Only those individuals that have a proven ministry and who are preaching and teaching Gospel Truth consistent with the Word of God and the Statement of Faith of FCGM will be considered. Application procedures and accountability requirements shall be established by the Council of Bishops and may be modified from time to time.
All applications will be prayerfully and carefully considered by the Council of Bishops and any credentials issued may be revoked for either of the following reasons, (a) recipient is found to not be preaching and teaching Gospel truth consistent with the Word of God and the Statement of Faith of FCGM, or (b) recipient is found to not be living a consistent Christian life above reproach.
Before revocation, the Council of Bishops shall bring either of these situations to the attention of the recipient, allowing for repentance and correction of the error. If the minister refuses to repent and correct his/her error, the Council of Bishops shall issue written revocation to said minister, requiring surrender of all credentials issued by FCGM.
FCGM credentials and fee schedules are listed below and may, upon approval of the Council of Bishops, be subject to change without prior notice.
Ministerial Intern
Ministerial Intern credentials may be issued to a beginning minister who feels called of God to work for Him in some specific field, such as Bible teacher, Christian counselor, evangelist or pastor. This credential places the beginning minister under a local pastor's authority and direct supervision for a period of no less than 12 months to learn about ministry and accountability.
Requirements for Ministerial Intern shall be, (1) having a call of God to work, (2) be a minimum of 18 years of age, (3) living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (4) having experienced the Baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, and (5) successful completion of Bible Test* demonstrating basic Bible knowledge.
*Bible Test varies with each level of credential.
Ordained and Licensed Minister of the Gospel
A Certificate of Ordination may be issued to a person who is considered a full-time minister, such as Bishop, Pastor or Evangelist. Having received the Certificate of Ordination reserves a high place of honor and demonstrates commitment on the part of the recipient. He/she is certified and authorized to Preach the Gospel, Teach the Word, Exhort, Perform Holy Matrimony, and Administer all the Ordinances and Functions of the Church, subject to, and in accordance with respective ordinances of residence.
A Certificate of License may be issued to a person who is considered a part-time or full-time minister. Being a Licensed Minister of the Gospel authorizes one to Preach the Gospel, Teach the Word, Perform Holy Matrimony, and Administer the Ordinances of the Church, subject to and in accordance with respective ordinances of residence.
Freedom Covenant Global Ministries has chosen to combine these two Certificates into one since some states stil require a Minister to be Licensed in order to perform Holy Matrimony and hold funerals.
Requirements for Ordained and Licensed Minister of the Gospel shall be, (1) having a call of God to the five fold ministry, (2) be a minimum of 21 years of age, (3) living a consistent Christian life above reproach, (4) having experienced the Baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, (5) successful completion of Bible Test* demonstrating basic Bible knowledge.
Furthermore, an Ordained and Licensed Minister of the Gospel in good standing with FCGM may be eligible for appointment or election to serve as the need may arise in the following leadership positions within FCGM, (1) Presiding Bishop, (2) Regional Bishop, (3) National Bishop or (4) Member of the Council of Bishops. Additional requirements may apply before appointment or election to serve in any of these leadership positions.
*Bible Test varies with each level of credential.
