A WORD FROM THE EDITOR - FORTY NINTH EDITION

Greetings and welcome to this edition of the W.I.N. E-Mail Newsletter. It has been several months since we published our last edition and I would like to say thanks to everyone for their patience as we went through some trials and circumstances which caused us to place the newsletter on hold for a season. I would also like to take this opportunity to say "Praise the Lord" for His faithfulness to see us through all things.

Since our last publication, we have been joined by three new ministers. They are Rev. David Wilcox of Gloversville NY, Rev. Paul Middleton of Florence CO, and Rev. Donald Thornburg of Aberdeen WA. We would certainly like to welcome each of these new ministers to the FCGM team. If you would like to write these men an e-mail welcoming them to FCGM, you may do so by clicking on their names above.

The Washington Bible Institute Colville Campus has officially started operation and is currently holding a Thursday evening class on Intercessory Prayer. After only five weeks, we can see the hand of God moving in and through the students. Thank you Lord!

Now for some wonderful news from the mission outreaches that we support. Please consider praying and asking God what you can do to help FCGM support these ministries as they work hard to reach the people of their nations. For those who don't know, we currently support as we are able the three mission fields listed below.

1. GILGOM International with Pastor Jerry Owour and his wife Pam has founded a church in Nairobi, Kenya. They are also holding open-air crusades where hundreds of lives are being touched for our Lord. Keep them in your prayers and if the Lord leads, please consider sending your mission support to FCGM that we might help them expand this work that God has given them.

2. Rev. Albert Mawuko A. TOGBEDJI and Christ Generation Ministries International in Cote d'Ivoire has now opened a third branch of the church in a nearby village. In addition, Pastor Albert is teaching the second class of students in Christ Generation Bible Institute. He also needs our support to continue operations.

3. Some of you met Bishop K.V. Daniel from Voice of Gospel Ministry in Kerala, India last year at our Annual Convention. For those who didn't, Bishop Daniel is reaching out to those peoples of India who need both spiritual and physical help. He oversees a large contingent of missionaries and churches, as well as mercy homes and Bible schools there. Please help us support him.

Our 2007 Annual Convention is coming up again on July 27, 28, 29, 2007. It will be hosted again this year by Destiny of Hope Fellowship in Aberdeen WA. For more information, you may call our Administrative Office at (509) 684-8700 or Pastor Dell Johnson of Destiny of Hope Fellowship at (360) 532-0994. We hope you will all make plans to attend.

Until next time...God bless each of you in all that you undertake!

In Jesus Name,
Rev. Sam T. Leigh

THE BOOK OF 2nd CORINTHIANS - PART TEN

I. Devotional Reading

Each morning, select a passage in God's Word. Talk with the Lord as you read the passage, then go back and find one or two verses which the Lord has impressed on your heart and meditate on them.

II. Bible Study

In this edition, we will be reading the last minor section of Paul's second letter to the Corinthians - 2 Corinthians 12:11-13:14. This minor section can be divided into three subsections. Read each subsection, answering for yourself the questions associated with them. Type out your answers or jot them down on a piece of paper and place in your Bible for further meditation and study.

Read 2 Corinthians 12:11-21

1. Why did Paul make a "fool" of himself by boasting about himself? (12:11)
2. How did Paul compare himself to the false "super apostles" (NIV)? (12:11)
3. What did Paul consider to the marks of a true apostolic ministry? (12:12)
4. How were these marks of apostleship done among the Corinthians? (12:12)
5. Why was Paul never a burden to the Corinthians? (12:13-15) (note 11:7-12)
6. What "same spirit" did Titus and the other men Paul sent act in? (12:16-18)
7. What did Paul say he was afraid of? (12:20-21)

Read 2 Corinthians 13:1-10

1. In the light of Paul's quote from Deuteronomy 19:15, why does Paul consider this third visit to the Corinthians to be so important? (13:1)
2. What was the warning that Paul had given on his first and second visits, and that he would enact on his third visit? (13:2)
3. How does Paul compare his own weakness with Christ's weakness, and his own strength with Christ's strength? (13:3-4)
4. Why did Paul instruct the Corinthians to "examine" themselves? (13:5)
5. What is Paul's prayer for the Corinthians? (13:7,9)
6. What does Paul repeat about the purpose of his authority? (12:10 and 10:8)

Read 2 Corinthians 13:11-14

1. What are the four final instructions that Paul gives to the Corinthians? (13:11)
2. If they do these four things, how will God reveal himself to them? (13:11)

III. Memory Verse

2 Corinthians 9:10; "Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,"

Here are a few suggestions that may help you to memorize your memory verses:

1. Ask the Lord to help you remember his Word (see John 14:26).

2. Use the version of the Bible you are most familiar with. What you normally read in your Bible is what you need to be memorizing.

3. Don't just memorize the contents of the verse; memorize its "address" (the verse reference) as well. You can do this by following this pattern: Step 1: reference; Step 2: verse content; Step 3: reference. Then repeat steps 1-3. Note that you are quoting the reference twice as many times as you quote the actual verse content. This gives the verse a clear "reference tag."

4. After you have read your memory verse out aloud several times, try going through your memory verse without reading your computer screen.

5. Look up your memory verse in your Bible. Look at its immediate context and read the verses that come before and after your memory verse.

6. Print out your memory verse or jot it down on a piece of paper. Take this paper with you when you go to work or do other daily activities. Meditate on the meaning of the verse throughout the day.

7. During your noon appointment with the Lord, take out your memory verse and go over it again. Talk to the Lord about what this verse means to you personally.

8. In the evening (at either your evening study or your evening devotions), see if you can quote your memory verse from memory. Then, without looking at the memory verse itself, see if you can find it in your Bible.

9. The next day, before you begin committing a new verse to memory, rehearse your previous day's memory verse and see if you can remember it (without cheating!).

10. Finally, at the end of the week (possibly on Sunday), collect all your week's memory verses, rehearse them and see if you can recall them without reading them. Spend a little extra time on any verses you have difficulty recalling.

11. Remember: Don't just memorize a verse. Put it into practice (James 1:22). It is not being able to quote a verse from memory that counts. It is His Word abiding in your heart that counts (John 15:7). When you actually apply a verse consistently to your daily life; that is when you truly know that verse!
